You'll find a resource for my current and past musical sketches here including the acoustic / flamenco based / solo guitar (that's not really very flamenco-ish at all), From Home (guitar quartet with dance) and El Hombre Trajeado plus any other projects that come along.

Most of these projects have freely downloadable mp3's available. Why give it away? Two reasons. Firstly, because i can. Secondly, as a wise man once said "Obscurity is a far greater threat to authors and creative artists than piracy".

Most of the music is released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5 UK: Scotland License which basically means that you can remix, share, redistribute and reuse the music as long as you do the same with whatever you make. See the full license here.

I'm always up for doing live shows, contact me here if you'd like to book a show. Also, check out Will Play For Food if you fancy putting on a show in your own home.

Anyway, here's what's new :

New video

Mon 15th March 2010

Here's the first video from First & Last. It was conceived and created by Alec Cheer for the song For Maria.

I think that he has done an amazing job on it, really capturing the feel for the piece. I hope that you like it as well.

First & Last standalone CD - available now (sort of)

Sun 28th February 2010

So, due to situations outside of our control, the CD version of First & Last won't physically be in the shops until later this month.

The good news is that you can buy it online from Bandcamp or, if you're in Glasgow and fancy a trip into the city centre, Monorail Music.

Here's a few pictures of the very cool packaging in the meantime :

Also, I've written a small piece for 'Picture Story' in The Sunday Herald Magazine. That will be out on the 28th February.

Next show / nice words / CD release date

Wed 13th January 2010

Sir Richard bishopMy next Glasgow show will be at Stereo supporting Sir Richard Bishop. Daniel Padden of The One Ensemble and Volcano the Bear will be DJing as well.

Richard Bishop is an experimental American guitarist and former member of Sun City Girls. His solo recordings and performances are largely improvised and draw on influences from Indian, North African and Gypsy styles, among others.

I got mentioned in Vic Galloway's and The Scotsman's 'musicians to watch in 2010' lists, check them out here and here.

The CD release of First & Last has been confirmed for 1st March 2010. The CD will be distributed by Forte Distribution and should be available from your favourite indie record stores.

Speaking of First & Last, we still have a few copies of the hand bound, hardback book with CD left. Order your copy from Bandcamp. The 'pay what you like' download version is also available from Bandcamp.
